The Data Engineer, Principal will be responsible for development, transformation and ongoing quality management of business data objects sourced from a wide range of internal/external systems with differing storage types. Coordinates/mentors team members to meet project milestones and deadlines, leads training sessions for data engineers, and design/contribute to best practices in Enterprise Data Warehouse.

What You Will Need:
Required Skills:
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles and techniques
  • Proficiency in SQL coding, including complex queries, joins, and subqueries.
  • Knowledgeable with data warehousing concepts, including ETL processes, dimensional modeling, and data mart design.
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience working with enterprise data warehousing systems
  • Experience in requirements gathering, including eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
  • Ability to develop and optimize stored procedures for data manipulation and transformation.
  • Lead/People management experience

What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies or working in Sprint-based development teams.
  • Proficiency in using Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Birst, PowerBI, and Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
  • Familiarity with modern Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) and Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) processes and tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS)

A Day in The Life Typically Includes:
  • Develop and enhance modeled Data Sets within visualization tools.
  • Collaborate with the Data Analyst team to understand visualization requirements and assist in building visualizations and dashboards that meet business needs.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of published data by implementing appropriate access controls and data protection measures.
  • Coordinate and mentor team members to meet project milestones and deadlines
  • Lead the training sessions for data engineers
  • Design and contribute to best practices in Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) architecture
