Description & Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Software Engineer with a keen focus on technology and leadership to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, a deep understanding of software architecture, and a proven track record of leading technical teams. As a Senior Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for guiding the development team, designing the Software solutions, ensuring the quality of the codebase, and driving the technical direction of our projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java applications, ensuring the software system is scalable, maintainable, and secure by making high-level design choices and setting technical standards for the project.
  • Lead and mentor a team, providing technical guidance and sharing knowledge on best practices and architectural principles.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentations, which includes design decisions, architectural patterns, and technical standards, serves as a reference for the development team and other stakeholders throughout the product roadmap.
  • Identifying and addressing potential technical risks and challenges involves proactively assessing the system's architecture to identify any potential issues, and devising strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ability to understand the software vision and plan its future directions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features, ensuring that the software architecture aligns with the project's objectives.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.

Experience and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of Hands-on experience in Java / J2EE with in-depth understanding of the language
  • 2+ years of proven experience as a Tech Lead or in a similar role
  • Excellent problem Solving, and analytical skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Exposure to working with overseas stakeholders.
  • Experience in working with relational databases like DB2 ,MySQL, etc
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN) and build tools (Maven, Gradle).
  • Exposure on JavaScript based Front ends desired. Angular and React Preferred.​
  • Prior experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
